Lady Gaga Headphones - A pain in the head

By WILLA PLANK (WSJ)

The pop star Lady Gaga is just as well known for outrageous costumes as for her catchy tunes. So it's not too surprising that she's come out with a slightly outrageous pair of headphones as well.

Lady Gaga's headphones are called "Heartbeats" and with a triangular metallic shape, they look a bit like jewelry. Heartbeats are the latest artist-branded product in Monster Cable's Beats by Dr. Dre line.

Pop star Lady Gaga has lent her name to a set of attractive, but somewhat painful, earphones. Willa Plank reviews.

But in my tests, the headphones were more style than substance. The biggest problem was that the bulky triangular portion of the headphones – which look cool – were uncomfortable to wear.

The black headphones I purchased came with different earpiece sizes. The small earpiece was too small, and thus the triangular piece hurt my ears. The bigger earpiece was too big, and kept falling out of my ear.

The earbuds' maker, Monster Cable Products, originally supplied me with other sized earpieces not included with the product in stores, including three-flanged ones which fit my ear best. The company said it plans to include extra-small earpieces with the basic model I tested, and is considering including the three-flanged earpieces in the higher-end model coming out for the holidays.

Once I got the earbuds in my ear, the sound quality was impressive. But I didn't hear the club-quality bass beats the company touts as a feature. Even after following the company's advice to wear the earbuds correctly, including wearing the earbuds in the correct designated ear and pointing the ends away from my ear, I still couldn't perceive a difference. I listened to a couple of hip-hop and rap songs, and didn't hear a strong bass sound.

This is unlike the Beats by Dr. Dre Tour earbuds, which have a distinct thumping bass sound to them. But again, this could be because I didn't have the perfect fit with the Heartbeats eartips included with the product.
Lady Gaga's Many Looks

Pop star Lady Gaga generates plenty of buzz for her unusual outfits -- here's a few of her recent ones.

Still, the Heartbeats won points for its linguine-style cable, which prevented serious tangling, and for its noise-isolating qualities, which were better than standard iPod earphones but not as good as noise-cancelling headphones.

The packaging and the look of the earbuds is stylish. The carrying case for the earbuds is triangular, which of course matches the shape of the earbuds. The basic model I tested out also comes in three different colors including rose red, chrome and black.

The company plans to come out with two other models of the earbuds, including a haute couture ultra-high definition headphone with a crystal earpiece design for the holidays at a suggested retail price of $179.95.

For true Lady Gaga fans, the discomfort might be worth the price (currently $99.99 at Best Buy). But I wasn't gaga over these high-priced uncomfortable headphones.

Lady Gaga Announces Her New Tour

In Celebs by Susie Anderson

Fame killed the Fame Kills tour. At least that's what we like to think anyway. Clearly, Kanye West is too full of himself to function in society, so he ruined the tour for both he and Lady Gaga. But Lady Gaga is back on her feet with a new tour announcement to make!

Lady Gaga's upcoming tour will be called The Monster Ball and is set to start just four days after the release of Gaga's newest album, The Fame Monster, though it was originally meant to start in 2010.

Fans of Lady Gaga's who had tickets to her Fame Kills tour must be incredibly excited that she's planning to be back on the road in no time. We're incredibly excited for her new album, which will be released on November 24.

In an interview Lady Gaga did with Rolling Stone, he explains the idea behind The Monster Ball: "I wanted to really put together a show that would be the most beautiful, expensive-looking, delicious show, but that my fans wouldn't have to pay a ton of money to come see."

But let's face it. While we love Lady Gaga's music and totally quirky personality, what we're really interested in is her fashion. What on Earth is Lady Gaga going to be wearing on this tour? When asked, Lady Gaga said, "The fashion, certainly, is going to be another exploration and another level from where we were with the Fame Ball. The theme of monsters is certainly going to be an influence, as well as the theme of evolution and change. It's going to be a truly artistic experience that is going to take the form of the greatest post-apocalyptic house party that you've ever been to."

Lady Gaga, fashion, and monsters are three things we can't wait to see together. We have a feeling the costumes are going to be completely outrageous and off the hook. And don't worry, we will be sharing all Lady Gaga crazy outfit creations with you as they come in!

Beyonce And Lady Gaga's 'Video Phone' Clip Confirmed!

All week, gossip sites have been abuzz with rumors that two of the fiercest divas in the game — Beyoncé and Lady Gaga — had joined forces on a super-secret video for B's "Video Phone."

It was a fairly big deal, and accordingly there's been much quoting of "insider" sources and "my boy [who] worked as a stylist for [Gaga's] dancers," but no confirmation from any major contributor to the project — until now.

On Thursday (October 15), a spokesperson for director Hype Williams confirmed to MTV News that that both Beyoncé and Gaga appear in the "Video Phone" clip, which Williams shot last weekend in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood.

Williams' spokesperson would not confirm any additional information about the "Video Phone" shoot, but, according to Life and Style magazine, security on set was extremely tight, and the video is shaping up to be a fashion bonanza, with Beyoncé wearing "a feathered dress" and Gaga sporting "something wild ... the fashion is sick and insane."

Mirroring the Life and Style report, another source posted on Pulse Music Board that the "Video Phone" clip was shot on a "closed set [with] no cameras or video phones" allowed. Apparently, the video version of the song — which is from Beyoncé's 2008 I Am ... Sasha Fierce album — features B and Gaga trading up-tempo verses, and sees Gaga adding an extra verse to the tune. The clip also features "lots of choreography" and "more dancers than the two girls [Beyoncé is] always with."

Lady GaGa steals the show at private party for Gavin Friday

The singer keeps poker face as she claims Bono made her do it!

Lady GAGA helped out new pal Bono Sunday night with an extra special gift for Gavin Friday's 50th birthday bash.

Dressed in just a sheer leotard with two blacked-out crosses over her breasts, Lady GaGa teetered over to Friday on towering stilettos to present the birthday boy with his birthday cake.

Lady GaGa said Bono had called her earlier that week to ask her to play at the star-studded gig in Carnegie Hall (Is there a private 411 for megastars do you think?)
"He was like 'oh it's just this little downtown thing'," she said, "And I'm thinking to myself as I arrived here [at Carnegie Hall] tonight: 'This isn't 'downtown' to me!'

"But I guess when you regularly play to 90,000 fans it might feel like 'downtown'."
Lady GaGa joined Scarlett Johansson, Courtney Love, Christy Turlington, Shane MacGowan and the boys from U2 to help celebrate Friday's birthday at Carnegie Hall.

Obama vs. Lady Gaga

It was President Barack Obama versus Lady Gaga at Saturday night’s 13th annual Human Rights Campaign Dinner—and Obama quickly surrendered.

“It is a privilege to be here tonight to open for Lady Gaga,” Obama said to applause, kicking off his remarks at Washington’s Convention Center. “I’ve made it.”

As they took the stage before a black-tie crowd of about 2,000, even the cast of the hot new television show Glee weighed in on the evening’s most anticipated guest.

“Lady Gaga! Chris Colfer, a cast member yelled into the microphone before two other co-stars bellowed, “President Obama!”

But Lady Gaga saluted Obama later in the evening when she told the crowd: “I think we can all be very excited for our future because it seems as though we have a president that’s just as historic and legendary that can really make a change for us.”

Other notables at the dinner included Tipper Gore, Rep. Patrick Kennedy, tennis pro Martina Navratilova, and Bravo’s Andy Cohen.

Before taking the stage, Lady Gaga, who wore a black dress and round sunglasses, said she was there to “represent those young people that are taking a stand” and pledged to continue to “love and be loyal…and continue to challenge the world.”

“I’m not going to play one of my songs tonight because tonight is not about me,” she told the crowd. “Tonight is about you.”

Gaga—who sat before a White grand piano— played John Lennon’s Imagine—although she changed some of the words.

Lady Gaga " Paparazzi " Live On SNL

Lady Gaga Performing Paparazzi (Special Edit by Fernando Garibay) On Saturday Night Life

Lady Gaga and Madonna slug it out on SNL

A staged - and rather poorly acted - fight between Lady Gaga and Madonna on Saturday Night Live has become an instant YouTube sensation.

The skit featured the two pop stars performing on stage together in similar tight-fitting outfits.

The duo fought in a short scuffle in which Madonna pulled Lady Gaga's hair and the pair tried to strangle each other.

"What's wrong Madonna - can't get into the groove?" asked Lady Gaga.

"What the hell is a disco stick?" replied Madonna. "What kind of a name is Lady Gaga? It sounds like baby food."

The clip has already had 860,000 views since being placed on YouTube on Saturday.

Lady Gaga Will Go on World Tour Without West

Lady Gaga Will Go on World Tour Without West

Lady Gaga said on Friday she and Kanye West decided mutually to cancel their "Fame Kills" tour but she will embark on her own concert series soon while West plans to take a good rest.

"It was a mutual decision," Gaga said.

"Kanye's going to take some time off. But the good news is that I'm going on tour in a few weeks."

Lori Ann Gibson, Gaga's choreographer who is working on dances for the coming shows, claimed on Twitter feed that "creative differences" between the Gaga and West led to the tour's sudden demise.
